I took a little break blogging around the holiday’s and now it’s a new year and I’m ready to blog again. Remember the Mother Daughter Project? We often take snap shots and selfies together but then there are the extra special moments that I just know are so special. This is one of those moments. I was relaxing in her bedroom with her at her request and the golden light began to dance across the room. I had my iPhone with me and I knew we had to capture the golden moment, the fleeting moment in so many ways. If you are someone who watches light you will know it moves fast. One might see the most perfect light and go to get their camera and upon return, it’s gone, it’s moved from where you saw the magic, it moves so fast. Guess what? Children grow fast too. They are babies in our arms one moment and it feels as if the very next moment they are on the verge of adulthood and we are left wondering how it happened so very fast? You have heard it before, cherish each and every moment you have with people, not just your children but the people you care about and love.
Our home will never be perfect, you can tell by this photograph. The paint is chipped, the floors are so rugged they need rugs to cover their many flaws, the mirrors are smudged. Time for me is more important than touching up the paint, it can still be done. It’s our priorities that put the list in order. The time spent will not always be there but the chipped paint, it will wait for you and that’s a promise.
I love my boy cubs too, so much but as time has fled, they have their own lives, their own friends and their relationships that come before us….at least for now.
Happy New Year.
P.S. the tree. I just need to address that because after we took the photograph we laughed so hard about the tree. Why on earth would she have a tree on top of her bed? She places it on the foot stool by the window for light but when I came into her room, she moved it so I could sit in the chair and use the foot stool to spread out our bills.
